“Outstanding Pianists” Series

Boris Giltburg

As part of its “Outstanding Pianists” series, Salle Bourgie welcomes Boris Giltburg. The Israeli pianist, winner of the First Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition (Belgium, 2013), offers a program of remarkable intensity, bringing together two masterpieces of Romantic piano music:

From Chopin’s Sonata No. 2, marked by the famous Funeral March, to the Ballade No. 4, Giltburg explores the full poetic depth and virtuosity of the Polish composer. In the second half, a selection of Preludes by Rachmaninov leads to the monumental Sonata No. 2 (1931 version), a work of dramatic power and striking harmonic richness.
