Louis Lortie – Beethoven Complete Piano Sonatas
A series of nine recitals spanning the 2020/21 season at Bourgie Hall of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
The great french-canadian pianist Louis Lortie was 10 years old when he discovered Beethoven. Fifty years later — part of a year of festivities surrounding the composer’s 250th birthday — Lortie inaugurated his dazzling full set of Beethoven sonatas in front of enraptured audiences at the Bourgie Hall in Montreal.
Though circumstances forced him to continue the series without the captivated crowds, he completed the 32-sonata cycle in the same stunning hall, with passion and dynamism to spare.
